Cupping Therapy

What is cupping?

Cupping is a TCM treatment that is often used together for greater effect. It is to stimulate circulation in order to break up stagnant areas of blood and qi (energy). Its use in TCM dates back over 2000 years.

Cupping Therapy

Uses cups of various sizes with a suction bulb attached to them to enhance blood flow and generate qi movement in the body. Cups can be removed from the skin after a few seconds and replaced or left in position for a longer time. Cups can also be placed on oiled skin and moved around to stimulate blood flow.

Treatment Plans

Before the traditional Chinese medicine treatment, a comprehensive analysis of the client's health problems will be assessed and noted. Ms. Ang will then recommend a treatment plan, and following client approval, treatment will commence. However, clients have experienced results after only 1 or 2 treatments, Ms. Ang has found in her practice that the most significant benefit is realized after 3 to 5 treatments, with occasional maintenance treatments following initial treatment.

Diagnosis & Medicine

While health is perceived as harmonious interaction of these entities and the outside world, the disease is interpreted as disharmony in interaction.

Traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis aims to trace symptoms to patterns of an underlying disharmony by measuring the pulse, inspecting the tongue, skin and eyes and looking at the eating and sleeping habits of the person, as well as many other things.

Traditional Practices

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a broad range of medical practices sharing common concepts which have been developed in China and are based on a tradition of more than 2,000 years, including various forms of herbal Medicine, acupuncture, massage (Tui na), exercise (qigong), and dietary therapy.

The philosophy of traditional practices is based on Yinyangism (i.e., the combination of the Five Phases theory with the Yin-yang theory), which Daoism later absorbed. If you wish to learn more about the treatments, don't hesitate to get in touch with Ms. Gracie Ang.
